Bunny Boarding Update

Effective May 1, 2023: Bunny Boarding will no longer take place at our Hayward residence due to the sale of the property.

Boarding services will now be hosted by Jose, who has kindly agreed to continue caring for our bunny families. For privacy and safety reasons, his home address will not be disclosed publicly.

Drop-off and pick-up location:
📍 Meek Park parking lot, Hayward, CA
(Just one minute away from Jose’s home.)

Families who have boarded with us before are welcome to continue under this new arrangement. If you prefer not to use this system, we completely understand and encourage you to seek another trusted boarder that fits your needs.

We truly appreciate your loyalty, trust, and understanding as we make this transition. Thank you for continuing to let us care for your beloved bunnies. 💖

Welcome To Bae's Motel Hops Inn

Please remember: this is a private home, not a commercial boarding facility or veterinary clinic. We are not a business, and we are not vets — just experienced breeders and bunny caretakers offering boarding to our families and community.

We began offering Bunny Boarding after many of our past adopters asked for help when they traveled. While we don’t provide luxury “bunny condos” or fancy setups, we do provide what matters most: safety, love, and attentive care in a secure, family environment.

Who We Can Accommodate

  • Healthy bunnies (no sneezing, wheezing, or illness at check-in)
  • Gentle or social bunnies (severely aggressive/skittish bunnies may be better suited for a specialized vet boarding facility)
  • Other small pets welcome: Guinea pigs and hamsters

Boarding Details
  • Rate: $10 per day, per bunny
  • Capacity: Maximum of 2 client households at a time (each bunny/family kept in separate living rooms for safety)
  • Housing: Secure playpen only — no free roaming (to prevent injury, poison exposure, or disease)
  • Supervision: Security cameras throughout the home + monitored environment
  • Location: Easy drop-off/pick-up in Hayward, with parking at Meek Park nearby
  • Holiday Boarding: Same flat daily rate — no extra holiday charges and any time pickup
What to Expect
  • Your bunny will be kept completely separate from other client pets
  • Daily feeding, fresh water, hay, and cage tidying
  • Loving attention and monitoring in a calm, safe environment
  • No rabbitry exposure — bunnies are cared for in the private home, not the Nevada rabbitry
We know life can get busy and travel isn’t always bunny-friendly. That’s why we’re here — to give your furry friend a safe place to stay and give you peace of mind while you’re away. 💖

By submitting a Bunny Boarding Request Application, you agree to the following terms:

🕒 Stays & Payments
  • Minimum Stay: 5 nights (to reduce stress from frequent travel).
  • Extended Stays: If boarding exceeds 15 days, the total amount must be paid in full at drop-off.
  • Early Pickups: If you pick up your bunny earlier than the dates reserved, the full original amount is still due.
  • Late Pickups: If a bunny is not picked up on the arranged date, a $20 per day surcharge will apply.

🏡 Boarding Environment
  • Boarding takes place in a private home, not a commercial facility.
  • For privacy and safety, owners are not permitted inside the home.
  • We do not provide photos or videos during stays — please take pictures of your bunny before drop-off if you’d like to have them while you’re away.

🧑‍⚕️ Health & Safety
  • Only healthy bunnies will be accepted. Pets showing signs of illness (sneezing, wheezing, diarrhea, fleas, ticks, or currently on antibiotics) cannot be boarded.
  • If a bunny develops a medical emergency while in our care, veterinary assistance will be sought immediately.
  • An emergency handling fee of $100 applies, and owners are fully responsible for vet costs.
  • We are not responsible for sudden, unexpected health issues related to pre-existing conditions.

💸 Cancellations & No-Shows
  • If you cancel after submitting a Bunny Boarding Form, a $60 cancellation fee will apply.
  • Failure to pay may result in being unable to board with us in the future.
  • If a bunny is not picked up or arrangements are ignored after the agreed pickup date, the bunny may be considered surrendered.

🌟 What We Provide
  • Housing, hay (Timothy, Orchard Grass, and Alfalfa), and fresh veggies/fruit.
  • Owners only need to provide their bunny’s special pellets (if different from any brand we can attain in a pet store).
  • Each bunny is kept separate from any other pet for safety.

✅ Our Commitment

In over a decade of boarding, we’ve had zero incidents of death, injury, or illness. Our #1 priority is your bunny’s safety, health, and well-being — and we strive to send every bunny home happy and socialized.

We provide this service out of passion and love for bunnies, and we appreciate the same courtesy and respect from all families who board with us.

Bunny Boarding entails:

🐰 We provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for every bunny in our care. Here’s what you can expect:

🏠 Housing & Safety
  • Spacious Playpen Setup: Each bunny is housed in a secure metal playpen (24” panels, 48” high) for maximum comfort and safety.
  • No wire-bottom cages: For safety reasons, we no longer use extra-large cages. All bunnies are kept in playpens to prevent injury.
  • Solitary Housing: Your bunny will be the only pet in our living room space — never housed near other families’ pets. We currently accept a maximum of two client households at a time (each in separate rooms).
  • Disease Prevention: All supplies are thoroughly disinfected, windows remain closed, and air purifiers/fans are provided to reduce risk of VHD2 and other airborne illnesses.

🧺 Daily Care
  • Litter Box: Large corner litter pan with paper/shavings bedding, cleaned once every 2 days. (You may bring your own if preferred.)
  • Nutrition:
    • Unlimited fresh hay (Timothy, Orchard Grass, or Alfalfa).
    • Measured daily pellets (Purina or your preferred brand).
    • Daily servings of bunny-safe fruits and vegetables.
  • Water: Provided in both a water bottle and a bowl. (You’re welcome to bring your own if your bunny is used to specific items.)
  • Feeding Accessories: Food bowl and hay rack provided.

💕 Handling & Interaction
  • Gentle Handling: Since most bunnies dislike being picked up, we minimize handling to reduce stress. Instead, we provide positive reinforcement during feeding, watering, and litter box cleaning.
  • Calm Environment: Petting and interaction are calm and reassuring, helping bunnies adjust and become more docile over time.

✨ Our top priority is your bunny’s safety, health, and comfort. Every detail of our boarding process is designed to keep your bunny secure, stress-free, and cared for like one of our own.
